Vista Murrieta is continuously granted a six-year term of accreditation
In March of 2019 WASC committee members visited Vista Murrieta High School to gain insight on what Vista Murrieta Broncos are all about. The day the visiting committee left, smiles were abound. A letter from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) stated:
“The Western Association of Schools and Colleges is pleased to announce the action taken by the Accrediting Commission for Schools granting Vista Murrieta High School a six-year term of accreditation, expiring on June 30, 2025”
This is the best a school can receive, a six-year full term. To receive such an accolade has made stakeholders who are involved with VMHS proud. Parents, students, and staff members conducted an in-depth self-study to showcase the stellar aspects of the school as well as acknowledge areas of growth.
Part of the self-study includes using the findings to create an action plan to follow-up on areas of growth. This action plan helps administrators and staff members focus on aspects of the school which are in need of attention and program analysis. During the third year (2022), a brief written report on the progress is made on the action plan and is sent to the Accrediting Commission for Schools.
Though it is an honor to be recognized as an effective school, the WASC process continues. The VMHS leadership team will continue to monitor the Focus on Learning Criteria created by WASC to ensure Vista Murrieta continues to improve. Vista Murrieta is committed to doing what is best for kids, which means continuing to examine programs and processes to create a school which meets the needs of all students.January 2022 Mid-Cycle Report
