To all Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the Murrieta Mesa High School Navy JROTC program. We are a young Unit and are very proud of what we have accomplished in such a short period of time. The program provides all books, drill equipment, and uniforms at a minimum cost to the student. Our objective is to instill a sense of Honor, Courage and Commitment in our Cadets. Leadership skills are taught to prepare students to successfully meet life’s challenges. Naval JROTC encourages participation in community service along with school programs and projects and we highly encourages civic responsibility, which develops strong and informed leaders for the future. We are pleased to have your son or daughter as a Cadet in the Murrieta Mesa RAM Battalion.
We participate in a variety of activities that will stress teamwork, leadership, unit cohesiveness, discipline, motivation and physical fitness. We offer competitive opportunities with drill teams, color guard, academics, and physical fitness teams. The academic portion of the curriculum focuses on all aspects of leadership and civic responsibility with an opportunity to lead Cadets in real world situations. NJROTC programs have a proven track record of improving citizenship, leadership, physical fitness and above all academic performance. From the Welcome Aboard Required Paperwork link there are forms requiring signatures. These forms were explained to your son or daughter during class and must be printed, filled out completely and signed by the Parent/Guardian, then returned as soon as possible. All forms are required for a student to enroll in this course. Your son/daughter cannot leave campus for an NJROTC sponsored activity or receive the uniform until all forms are turned in. Of great importance are the medical information forms that are required by the United States Navy and the Murrieta Valley Unified school district that must be returned before your student can participate in NJROTC activities.I will periodically contact Parents/Guardians through email an through this website of what the unit has planned for the upcoming months. I have attempted to make this course as paperless as possible with all information (textbooks, forms, manuals, etc.) posted online through this website to make it as easy as possible for the student and Parent/Guardian to find what they need.
On behalf of Chief Meredith and myself, welcome to the Murrieta Mesa NJROTC family. We look forward to working with your student. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
Sincerely Yours,
Lieutenant Colonel Mike Jackson, USMC (Ret)
