Becca’s Bio

Hi, I’m Becca! I LOVE to do gymnastics and at recess I play handball. I am one of four daughters. My hobby is eating. At home I watch T.V. or play my kindle. I also take piano lessons. I like to swim, rollerblade and I finally did a chin-up! I’m having a lot of trouble choosing what I want to do for Reflections. I’m choosing between visual arts and music composition. Emma says I should do visual arts but I decided to not take her opinion. I predicted I would be the new president because Matthew looked at me in a weird way. I am one of four daughters. Let me share what my week is like while being president.

 

Monday

Today we ran the mile. We only had to run four laps instead of six. We did a lot of fun things and Mrs. Woods read Tuck Everlasting to us and it was the best chapter yet! Math was actually pretty fun and super easy. After lunch we had Otterpops- and they were three years old and disgusting- while we watched Matthew’s video about him.

 

Tuesday

Today we did a lot of exciting things and in the chapter we read of Tuck Everlasting Winnie said she likes Jesse the best. Mrs. Woods let us start our reading log. At recess me and Sydney got into an argument about handball, but now we’re fixed. For U.A. Ms. Lauvray was really fun. It was also really fast. It is kind of obvious that it was easy because it was just review.

Wednesday

Today our sub was fun but a little strict. Workout Wednesday was pretty fun. I did 30 sit-ups and 60 push-ups. The sub gave so many monitor marks. Luckily me and Kate didn’t get any. At U.A. I had so much fun with Mrs.N.- I don’t know how to spell her name. I got to read a math story that I wrote. They have a really pretty beta fish, too.

 

Thursday

Today was just an ordinary day, unpacking, checking reminder binders and attendance. At lunch, it wasn’t so ordinary because Hayes probably broke his knee. After lunch I was pretty tired. We started on a project that we did in groups. We were making food chain collages and it took a long time.

Today when we got into class we all started on our food chain collages. It took me almost all of the way to lunch to finish it. Making my collage was hard. It took me forever to make the mane for my lion. During lunch we ate inside. I was doing my blog.

 

Friday

Hi, My name is Matthew.  I love to read, once I read a whole book in a day! I also love sports.  The sports that I play are soccer, football, baseball and basketball.  I’m really getting into swimming laps because I was really inspired by the Olympics. One other thing I love is band.  The trumpet is what I play and I love it. It’s so COOL! I hope you enjoy reading my blog for the week of August 22, 2016

 

Monday: First, for block 1, we did the SRI it was so HOT I could barely think! Then Mr. Keith came in and fixed it.  After that, we took a spelling pre-test.  We went out to recess after that. Finally, we got to go to math and learned about 10 to the power of numbers. Time to go back to LA! WE got our spelling test results and I did pretty well I was so glad lunch started after that I was SO hungry.  I obviously played soccer at lunch. After lunch, we to to know who the next president is...ME! The bell rang after that and I got to walk with my best friend Hayes to our houses.

 

Tuesday: First, we go to go to the library.  I checked out the third book of the Series of Unfortunate Events. When we go back we started block 1. Then it was time for recess. I played soccer again and I got 3 of the  best players on my team.  I was team captain. Time for block 2! We got to learn more about 10 to the power of numbers! Now we get back to LA. We get to do reading logs. Time for lunch! I played soccer! UA time, we learned about growth mindset. Schools over!

 

Wednesday: What happened today was when Mrs. Woods picked us up at the line we got to do workout Wednesday! Then we got back to class.  Finally, I got to go to band class! Mr. Newton is the best band teacher ever! Now time for recess! I played soccer! Now we get to go to block 2! We learned all the properties in math, Block 1 now! We are reading Tuck Everlasting. Time for lunch! Of course, I played soccer.  UA time! School is over! Time to walk home.

 

Thursday: When we got to class we did block 1. Then time for recess! I played soccer right before we took class pictures. I got SWEATY. After  pictures we went to block 2. Then back to Block 1! FINALLY time for lunch! I played soccer once again.  UA now. School is over. Yay!

 

Friday: Yay, we got Free Play! I played soccer again. We tied 2-2. When we got back in we took our spelling and vocab tests. I got 100% on both. Recess time! Of course I had to play soccer. We lost. Well time for block 2. I love math. Block 2 again. Yess! Time for lunch! FINALLY time for band!! Mr. Newton taught us how to read whole notes, half notes, and quarter notes! School is over for the weekend!

Hi! I'm Megan! I'm 10 years old and my birthday is October 17th.  I am in Mrs. Woods' awesome 5th grade Class. Let me share some things about myself:  I love to play tag.  My best friends are Ferdeliza and Claire.  My favorite subject is Science.My favorite book series is Warrior Cats.

 

Week 1

Wednesday

Hi! I’m Megan. This week was our first week of school. On the first day, we started a word search and a question paper. Later that day, we played a game. You start with a paper, and there is questions you have to answer on a paper. That’s the end of the day. Well….At least what I remember!!

 Thursday

Hi! It’s me again. Today, we started some “phone cases”, continued/finished our word search, and our question paper. We also started a book called “Top 10 Ways to Ruin the First Day of School.” It’s funny, `cause the guy gets his foot stuck in a toilet. Again, the end of the day, I can’t remember most of it.

 Friday

   

Hello again! Today we continued/finished our “phone cases”, and continued “Top 10 Ways to Ruin the First Day of School.” We also took pictures for our “phone cases”. We wrote a paragraph about ourself, too. We also started some art. We drew our faces, but half of it is missing. We also have to write our names next to it boldly. Today we also started our first day of math. At math class, we wrote/drew things about ourself that uses numbers. Well, this is the end of our first week of school! See ya next week!!

Monday

Welcome back! This is our second week of school. Today I sat at the president’s table, (Every week we pick a president), and ate goldfish crackers. BUT, we are not talking about me. Unless you want to. Anyway, today WE continued our work in progress for, like, 10 minutes. After that, we did LA in our notebook. We did Greek/Latin roots. Then, we went to recess, blah blah BLAH, played tag, BLAH, and came back and went to math class. We did 6 math problems, then we did math on our whiteboards. We left, then did PROS and CONS about being immortal. We went to lunch, ate, had fun, then we went back to class. We silent read, then packed up and left. It was a great day.

Tuesday

       

Hello!!! Today we did our work and progress again, and then Mrs. Woods started talking about back to school night. She talked about what time the parents should be here, and then finished the things we needed for back to school night until recess. After recess, Mrs. Richardson, our school counselor, came and talked to us about types of problems we might need her for. After that, we went to math. At math, we answered 6 questions and did math on our whiteboards. Next, we reread “Tuck Everlasting”. After that, we wrote a paragraph predicting what Winnie would do in the morning. After we finished that we went to lunch. We ate, had fun, and went back to class. After lunch, we silent read, then we went over what time to be at back to school night. After we went over that, we did Social Studies. Last of all, we finished all the things we needed for back to school night. Well, that’s the end of today!!!

Wednesday

    

Hi!! Today we started the day by unpacking, then we did Social Studies. After Social Studies, we went to recess, had fun, and went to math class. At math, a worker came to replace the projector. We did a test, which was REALLY hard, then we did math on our whiteboards. When we got back to homeroom, we read “Tuck Everlasting”, then we went to lunch. We ate, and had fun. After lunch, we read, and glued paper brains onto our math books about growth mindsets. Last of all, we packed up, I chose the Vice President, and left.

 Thursday

   

Today we unpacked, checked our risk papers and reminder binders, and went over how to use quizlet. We wrote our homework, and went to recess. We had fun, then came back and went to math. In math, we drew a place value table, and played a little game with it. After we played the little game, we went back to homeroom, and read/worked on our “Wonders” book. We ripped out a paper for homework, and went to lunch. We ate, had fun, and went back to homeroom. We silent read for 25 minutes, and then we listened to Mrs. Woods read “Top 10 Ways to Ruin the First Day of School.” Tony, the main character, is having a, popcorn fight at a football game?!?! After we read the book, we packed up, then started UA. During UA, we watched a video about brains. Then, Mrs. Woods talked about wearing helmets. After Mrs. Woods talked about that, we watched another video. After we watched the second video, we got out our math books, and colored in one half of our paper brains. After UA, we waited to be excused, and left. That was the end of today, so see ya tomorrow.

 

Friday

 

Hello! Today we started school by doing work and progress. After work and progress, we did our “Wonders” book.. We finished up reading a story about how great ideas get started.  The story, A Fresh Idea, had a happy ending! After that, we started recess, my Vice President and I helped out Mrs. Woods. When recess was over, we went to math class. At math class, we answered 5 question, and did a math teaser. After math, we did our connections, and after we finished that, we read chapter 6 of “Tuck Everlasting”. After we did connections/read, we went to lunch. At lunch, I worked on my slideshow with Mrs. Woods. After lunch, we all packed up. After we packed up, we did UA. After UA, we left school. Well, that’s the end of today! But, it’s also the end of my blog. See ya one day in the future!!!
