• Participation/La Participación

Participation is a key component of their learning.  They will earn points on a daily basis for their willingness to participate.  There will be days with mandatory participation, while others will be voluntary.  However, the more effort that a student places forth to communicate--stepping outside their realm of comfort--the greater will be their learning and understanding of the language.  Those that are absent cannot participate and there for will not be able to earn their points.
I truly want them to become Spanish speakers and will encourage them to open their mouths and release their shackles of fear and embarrassment.  It can be a lengthy process but the endeavor is well worth the effort.  Thus, I will need your help to ask them what they're learning and have them explain it to you in Spanish, or even have them tell about their day and what they did or learned.  The idea is to get them to Speak--constantly!

Especially for my Spanish IV students, the end result should be fluency or nearing the bridge of being bilingual.  Thus, the more they speak in class the closer they'll near the threshold of being a fluent Spanish speaker.

In essence, (and this is rhetorical) what should be the end result of them taking Spanish?
