    Robotics Syllabus

Robotics at MVHS is set up to serve two different purposes.  Some students have chosen to work on a robot in which they will compete against other schools in Southern California and from around the world. Others, not interested in the competitions, will be working on designing, building, and programming smaller robots to complete various tasks throughout the year.

All students will use VEX, VEX EXP, and Virtual Worlds to learn about designing, building and programming their robots. The robotics program is entering its thirteenth year of existence at MVHS. Over the past thirteen years, we have achieved a great deal of success including: traveling all over CA in addition to 4 different states to compete in VEX competitions, winning the 2012 VEX Robotics World Championship, the 2014 Programming Skills State Championship, and the 2015 CA State Championship.  In 2013, two students and Mr. Bradley were invited to China to help teach some robotics camps by China RobotC. In the 2021 school year, Mr. Hunter took over the program, and we look forward to more successes this year as well.
